Astronomy Science ~ NASA's spacecraft Chandra X-ray Observatory have measured the young, distant galaxy clusters and the most massive in the universe. The astronomers found that these galaxy clusters (which looks at the relatively young age about 800 million years) is the most massive known cluster with a relatively younger age. This galaxy cluster was initially discovered using ESA's XMM-Newton observatory and is located about 9.6 billion light years from Earth.

Using data from Chandra observations, astronomers accurately measure the weight of this cluster and uncover the value that this cluster has a mass of 400 trillion times the mass of the sun. Scientists believe the cluster was formed about 3.3 billion years after the Big Bang.

This cluster was officially named XDCP J0044.0-2033, but the researchers dubbed "Gioiello", from the Italian language meaning "gem". They chose this name because the cluster image contains many sparkling colors that derived from heat-induced star formation in the galaxy. And also, the research team met to discuss Chandra data for the first time at Villa il Gioiello, a 15th-century villa near the Arcetri Observatory, which was the last residence of the leading Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei.

The researchers also noted that these structures provide clues about the spread of hot gas that is not evenly distributed. Blob of gas is probably caused by collision and merging galaxy clusters that are smaller and provide clues to how it became so massive cluster at a young age. Researchers hope that this cluster is still young enough to undergo such interactions.

The study will be published in The Astrophysical Journal.
