Astronomy Science ~ A paper published in the journal of Nature and was written by researchers from the University of Hertfordshire UK describes the so-called cosmic explosion that is documented in a distant galaxy, dubbed SDSS J0905 + 57.

Astronomers say that this galaxy now issued a dense gas at the speed of light. Moreover, they say that the gas that comes out of this galaxy extends tens of thousands of light years into space.

The galaxy is actually in need of gas for the forming of new stars, no doubt that this explosion will affect the evolution of SDS J0905 + 57. In fact, specialists argue that in the future, the process of star formation in these galaxies may end.

Closer look at the Cosmic Explosion

While studying the galaxy with the help of the Plateau de Bure Interferometer in the Institut de Radioastronomie Millimétrique (IRAM), scientists University of Hertfordshire found that SDS J0905 + 57 loss of gas at high speeds. Institut de Radioastronomie Millimétrique (IRAM) Plateau de Bure Interferometer is name-based radio telescopes in the French Alps.

Interestingly enough, astronomers documented the explosion of dense gas jet of this galaxy inadvertently. They say that when they observed SDSS J0905 + 57, they just want to study the galaxy's gas reserves. "What we found was something of a surprise - most of the gas is being blown out of the galaxy at a concentration of stars that formed in the center of the galaxy," said astronomer University of Hertfordshire.

Gas Jet Moving With Speed Light

Dr. James Geach and his colleagues said that, according to data obtained with the help of the Institut de Radioastronomie Millimétrique (IRAM) Plateau de Bure Interferometer, gas is now left SDSS J0905 + 57 at a rate of 2 million miles per hour (3.2 million kilometers per hour) ,

Astronomers and colleagues explain that this is caused by the pressure exerted by the radiation emitted by the stars that are now forming deep within the galaxy's core. This same pressure causes the gas to expand the tens of thousands of light years into space.

It is estimated that gas now leave this galaxy would be more than enough to form about one billion stars similar to our sun. As mentioned, the scientists are confident that, in time, SDSS J0905 + 57 will lose so much gas and will no longer be able to sustain the process of star formation. By studying the behavior of these galaxies, astronomers will get a better understanding of the evolution of the universe.
