Astronomy Science ~ These pictures may look like photos taken by telescopes in space, like the Hubble, but in fact this photo was taken by an amateur astronomer from his home.

Located millions of light years from Earth, the star-studded night sky filled with a variety of colors. Terry Hancock photographer captured this image using a special camera attached to a telescope astronomy from his yard in Fremont, Michigan.

61-year-old man who works as a sales manager said: "My pictures are all long exposures of galaxies, nebulae and star clusters that are about thousands to millions of light years from Earth.

This is the image of the Triangulum galaxy, a spiral galaxy is three million light years from Earth in the constellation Triangulum. These pictures were taken by amateur astronomer Terry Hancock

"My image is titled 'The Markarian's Chain of Galaxies' is the furthest she ever picture I take, is 70 million light years from Earth and contains many galaxies.

Distant galaxies that are millions of light years takes longer to reach Earth. For example, using the Hubble Space Telescope, astronomers can see light from the Eagle Nebula, which takes 7,000 years to reach Earth.

"The idea of staring into the night sky and be able to capture beautiful images, long before humans existed on Earth really fascinated me," says Hancock.

"These images are all true, but you will not see these pictures in good time looking at the sky without the aid of a telescope. Our eyes do not have the necessary sensitivity to capture detail and color.

"To see astronomical objects are very faint in the level of detail, you have to use special equipment." To capture the image, Hancock install the camera on the telescope which is then connected to the equatorial mount along with other equipment. Mr Hancock set is unique because it was taken in one night only, rather than a few days. He uses a telescopic lens that collects light fast speeding up the process.
