Astronomy Science ~ HD 40 307 g is an exoplanet orbiting in the habitable zone of the HD 40307 star. The composition of the planet is still 50-50, the Super-Earth or Mini-Neptune.

Here are some interesting facts from the planet HD 40 307 g

1. The planet is 42 light-years away towards the constellation Pictor.

2. The planet orbits a small orange dwarf star called HD 40307. This star emits 75% less energy than our sun.

3. HD 40 307 System consists of six planets, HD 40307g is the outermost planet in this system. Five other planets in this system orbit much closer to their star than Mercury orbits the sun.

4. If the HD 40307g is a rocky planet, then gravity will be two times stronger than on Earth.

5. HD 40307g is in the habitable zone of its star system which allows liquid water formed on its surface. Unlike some other planets that have been detected in the habitable zone, the planet is not locked in orbit of star, which means that it has day and night, greatly increasing the chances of life evolving on this planet.

If the planet is a rocky planet HD 40307g (Super-Earth) then it will look like this. However, the composition of the planet is still not known with certainty, between super-Earth or Neptune Mini
6. This planet has a gravitational force at least two times stronger than the Earth.

7. Further study of the planet is necessary to determine the composition and atmospheric conditions.

8. In astronomical distances, HD 40307g relatively close to Earth, at a future space-based telescopes may be able to capture images of the planet directly.

9. HD 40307g revolves around its parent star at a distance of 56 million miles (90 million km) and takes 198 days to make one complete orbit.

10. The planet was discovered in October 2012 by a joint team of British and Dutch astronom.
