Astronomy Science ~ Eta Carinae (η Carinae or η Car) is an all-supergiant star and a bright blue variables.

And here are some interesting facts about the star Eta Carinae

1. Eta Carinae is 7,500 light-years from Earth in the direction of the constellation Carina.

2. This is a great giant star (hypergiant) are very rare with more than a hundred times the mass of sun (about 150 solar masses). There are only ten known star in the Milky Way that has a higher mass than Eta Carinae.

3. In 1843, Eta Carinae issue a proportion of the mass in an event called a fake supernova, enveloping the star in a cloud of gas and dust. A cloud of gas and dust around the star known as a nebula Humunculus.

Image from the Hubble Space Telescope shows Eta Carinae and the bipolar flow of Homunculus Nebula around it. Homunculus Nebula in part created by the eruption of Eta Carinae whose light reached Earth in 1843. Eta Carinae itself appears as a small white pieces in the middle of the image, where the two lobes of the Homunculus touch.
4. Within a few weeks after this event, Eta Carinae became the second brightest star in the night sky.

5. Eta Carinae maybe will explode as a supernova within the next million years.

6. Eta Cariane is actually a two-star system although there is some debate in this theory.

7. Radius Eta Carinae is difficult to measure with certainty but we recognize that it is a very big star. If the star is replacing the Sun in the Solar System, it's a big star could reach the orbit of Jupiter.

8. It is estimated that this star has a surface temperature of about 40000 C (72,000 F), seven times hotter than the sun.

9. Because a very large mass, Eta Carinae emits light about 5 million times brighter than the Sun.

10. It has a traditional name "Tseen She", derived from Chinese 天 社 (Mandarin: tiānshè) which means "the altar in heaven") and foramen.
