Astronomy Science ~ Look! The sky is a bird, it's a plane, it's a smiley?

Looks like a smiley face beaming down from heaven, but is actually a set of SDSS J1038 + massive galaxies known as 4849. The image, taken by the Hubble space telescope, looks like two bright yellow eyes and curved lines forming a face and a smile.

For over 20 years, the Hubble Space telecope silently circled above us, capturing a dark world billions of light years secrets. Thousands of these wonderful images are available in the database of Hubble. This was seen as Judy Schmidt and sent to Hidden Treasures competition Hubble.

The two bright eyes are actually two galaxies. And smile? This is the result of what astronomers call "strong gravitational lensing."

This happens due to the gravitational attraction between the two clusters of galaxies is so strong that distorts space and time around. The "ring like structure" forming smiling face is known as an "Einstein ring" - named after the man whose theory of general relativity explains the mysteries that even as a great emoticon space.

The cluster appears to have two bright spots such as the eyes, others such as the nose, and the line bends light that looks like a mouth and facial lines. Overall, they create the impression of a happy face on galaxy clusters. In fact, the two "eyes" was a distant galaxy, and the curved lines derived from the light is bent by gravity around galaxy clusters.
Einstein's theory of general relativity shows that massive objects can actually bend space around them. A gravitational lens is formed when light from a very distant source and light (like quasars) "deflected" around the very large objects (such as clusters of galaxies) between the light source and the observer objects.

Clusters of galaxies are the most MASF some objects in the universe and can make a strong gravitational lens effect. In the case of this cosmic smile face, clusters of galaxies and distant light source aligned perfectly with the Hubble along a straight line. As a result, it creates a "smile" and grooves around the edge of the face.
